A Bronx Sumer explores a life that was left behind, and the promise of a new one. It captures the Irish in New York during the 1980s, the last significant influx of immigration from Ireland to America. A wry, humorous, authentic, ‘innocent abroad’ look at a young woman’s emotional and sexual transformation.
Frances Browner, poet, author, workshop facilitator, lives in Greystones, County Wicklow. She has published many poems, memoirs, and short stories, been shortlisted in competitions, highly commended for the Costa Book Awards, and broadcast on RTE's Sunday Miscellany and Living Word. Her publications were compiled and published, You Could've Been Someone, 2015. Poetry pamphlet, Selfies, was part of the Ghost City Press 2019 summer series, Syracuse, NY; a collection, Roots and Wings, was published by Revival Press, Limerick, in 2019, and A Bronx Summer, in 2023, is her first novel.
