I am loving this book so much. I don’t live in Ireland any more….. but the memories of the school my grandchildren attended, which is subtly mentioned in chapter 1……. Makes me long to be back there. Educate Together a fabulous idea. Loving every story. Superbly written.
Not really noticed the male domination if I am honest. Appeals to everyone…. Whatever age or gender

Great book- every story stands on its own but together they build a tapestry of vulnerability longing and resilience- the themes – memory, regret and hope are handled with a confident touch. Fiction that understands the complexities of being human
Patricia Humphreys –
This is a collection of short stories that lingers with you long after the final page. Each story very well crafted yet emotionally raw- a great exploration of the human condition that is both intimate and universal. Characters feel lived in and genuine their inner conflicts simmering underneath. This is the kind of book you want to savour- a powerful beautifully written collection. Five stars without hesitation

I enjoyed this book so much, very thought provoking, a lot of the stories stayed with me afterwards and I am still thinking about them. I would thoroughly recommend this book to males and females alike, am looking forward to more books from John Fintan McCutcheon.

This book is an excellent anthology with powerful story-telling and characters that will stay with you long after you put down the book. The stories are gripping and very believable. I can highly recommend ‘Burning Inwards’ as a fantastic read. It will probably especially appeal to male readers, as most of the characters who dominate the stories are boys, young men and older males who experience various challenges. It is also very insightful for us ladies who try everyday to understand them!
