Cork in Decades Past
In the past fifty years or so, the landscape of Cork has changed significantly, in some cases beyond recognition.
Throughout the past four decades, the author has taken thousands of photos of Cork and its people while also documenting its ongoing physical development, both city and county.
For some readers, quite a few of these pictures will have a special resonance, such as those of the old Páirc Uí Chaoimh as it was back in 1983 and an almost unrecognisable Turners Cross soccer ground. People feature prominently also, for instance in the images of the celebrations in 1985 that marked Cork’s 800th birthday as a chartered city.
The book has been an unprecedented success, selling out within a few week of it’s publication. A third print run has now been published.

This book is a stunning retrospective of Cork within the last 4 decades.
Each picture has a detailed, in depth analysis and history. A great effort was made with the presentation of this book.
The pictures tell of a Cork City and county long since departed. They convey a sense of simplicity and nostalgia.
A great read and a must have book for any Cork enthusiast or for those yearning to relive past memories

Such a lovely look with beautiful images that really captures the beauty of Cork. Myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed looking through this and I will be adding it to several Christmas stockings this year!
