I read this book literally in one sitting it completely captured me. A story of human persistence and resilience at it’s very best. It also pulsates with the love of a mother and father for their child. And the determination to give every possible opportunity to their son for a full and meaningful life. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

A wonderful honest depiction of the joys and challenges of raising a teenage, non verbal son with dual diagnoses autism/downsyndrome. Enjoyable read, insightful to those putside this type of situation and helpful to those living it also.

  4. Katie Padfield

Both my mum and I read this book over Christmas and found it to be an honest, open account of the challenges, highs and lows of family life with their wonderful Damien. Dorly does not cover up the difficulties they face but writes with love and understanding and the book stays with you long after you’ve finished reading it.
