Howl at Halloween – Áine goes to Kenmare tells the heartwarming story of a young girl called Áine who travels with her family from Dublin to celebrate the annual Halloween Howl festival with her Granny in Kenmare, Co Kerry.

Follow Áine’s journey as she explores the autumnal beauty of the area and learns about Halloween traditions old and new. A charming story of family, community and celebrations at this special time of the year. The story culminates with everybody dressing up and participating in the local community’s Halloween Howl parade.

Beautifully illustrated by Kenmare artist Catherine Woods the book captures the joy and warmth of celebrating Halloween with family.

‘Discussion prompts’, to encourage adult–child engagement with the core themes of the book, are included.

The story supports the aims of the Primary School Curriculum for this age group, with particular emphasis on appreciating Irish culture and traditions, as well as fostering personal growth.
