Deirdre Power –
This book is a extremely powerful true story of Ingrid Walsh on her journey through life. First started by Ingrid and finished by her Mam Mary. A really beautiful read. My rating woud be 10/10.
Ethel Corduff –
This is a wonderful book. Started many years ago by Ingrid Walsh of her inspiring journey overcoming many obstacles bravely and cheerfully with the constant help of her devoted parents Mary and Ernie.Ingrid was unable to complete the book due to tragic medical circumstances. The book has been lovingly completed and compiled by her mother Mary a few years after Ingrid sadly passed away at the age of 48. The compassion of Ingrid and Mary shines throughout the book which is so well researched and written.I read it in one evening as I was so eager to find out what happens next. The title is so appropriate ‘I will bring the Colour’ gives a flavour of how Ingrid lived her life bringing cheer and love to others, her many friendships give testimony of her great interest in people. To know Ingrid was to love her.
Not alone is the book a fitting legacy to Ingrid, how her parents battled to get the care from the Irish Health System that Ingrid needed may help others in the same situation. I will bring the Colour deserves a wide readership as its impact is wide ranging.

I will Bring The Colour
By Ingrid and Mary Walsh
This book will take you on a journey of Ingrid’s life. A journey of up and down. Ingrid shares her experience in an exceptional way with resilience and honesty.
In her early days she had the foresight to keep notes of her physical disability. An exceptional girl.
Her journey was to overcome all her challenges. She was able to drift from challenging days to another world. Classical music was her saviour, her anchor she shared with her dad. An excellent read for all.

I will bring the colour is a story of unconditional parental love showcasing uncommon courage of a determined mother to ensure that her daughter and many more are not restricted or short-changed in any shape or form as a result of a congenital condition. This book is centred on the lived experience of a mother and more, it brings you into the pleasant personality and strength displayed by a young woman who loved life and everyone she met. Although, an intermingling of Ingrid narrative and her mother’s (Mary) who is the author, I will bring the colour speaks about persistence, a never-give-up mindset of a family who stood together regardless what life threw at them.
Personally, it is a 10+ out of 10 if I am to rate it.
Mary O Brien –
Written by Ingrid and Ingrid’s Mam, Mary Walsh who in the Foreword describes herself as not the author but as the gap filler, the background painter, the other perspective.
This book is a beautiful story of the most amazing girl and her 48 years on this earth. It will make you laugh and cry, it is heartwarming, heartbreaking at times but after reading it you will have spent a few hours immersed in the life of Ingrid and her family.
You won’t be disappointed with this powerful life story told by blending Ingrid’s own words with those of her loving mother Mary.
After reading this book, you will see how the title
I Will Bring The Colour is exactly what Ingrid did in her life.
A true story not to missed.
