This lady is an inspiration. I was given her book as a present and once I started reading couldn’t put it down. I am full of admiration for anyone who has been at rock bottom and picked themselves up like she has without any self pity and got on with it! Her adventures across the world have been a joy to read and not without humour.
It just goes to prove how exercise can heal the mind as well as the body.

I really enjoyed Life is a Cycle.
It has some light humour mixed in with its adventures.
The adventures span from The Alps to The Canaries and to Colombia.
The chapters recounting Sinéad’s cycling holidays were my favourites.
There are other chapters feature regular tourism.

Really enjoyed this book! It’s uplifting & inspirational. I was in awe of the writer – how she overcame difficulties in her life and turned things around so completely and still comes across as a person anyone could relate to. The stories of some of the tough cycles she undertook are incredible and those of her travel adventures are inspiring. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable read. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved Life is a Cycle. Sinéad Kennedy’s story is a beautiful, honest, and unapologetically real memoir that had me both laughing out loud and tearing up. Her raw, authentic storytelling pulls you right into her world, sharing both the highs and lows of her journey. It’s not just a tale of cycling adventures around the world—it’s a testament to resilience, bravery, and the power of self-discovery.
Sinéad doesn’t gloss over the hard parts, and she doesn’t present herself as a flawless heroine. She’s transparent about the burnout, the moments of frustration, and the trauma that shook her to her core. I felt angry for her at times, especially seeing the obstacles she faced and the unfairness of some situations. There were also deeply moving parts that left a lump in my throat, especially when she was abandoned by the person who was meant to be minding her on the side of a mountain while sick and at her weakest. A metaphor for what a lot of us face at different points in our lives.
This book is inspiring because it’s a true story, warts and all. It’s a reminder that we all have the power to reshape our lives, no matter where we are starting from. Sinéad’s journey is filled with unforgettable moments of humor, courage, and insight that will resonate with anyone who feels stuck or in need of a little push to follow their dreams.
As soon as I finished, I passed it on to a friend—I knew it was one of those books that had to be shared. I think everyone should have a chance to read her story. And I can’t wait for the sequel. Sinéad’s life and adventures have only just begun, and I’ll be eagerly following along!
