After her mother’s passing, Lacey discovers why her mother held a grudge against her.
What is revealed devastates the whole family and in the search for truth exposes more than the Taylor children expected.
This is Lacey’s journey. But it does not exclude her siblings, whose lives fall apart as they too struggle to accept the revelations.

Anne Frehill –
I really enjoyed this book. The author, Mary T. Bradford is a natural storyteller. The writing flows and the characters are well drawn. It is an absorbing read and I found myself hurrying back to it each evening. Christmas is just around the corner and this book is the perfect present. It can be enjoyed by a roaring fire or in a secluded spot on some sun -kissed beach in the Canaries! I am looking forward to reading the other books in this trilogy.
Ruby Eyre –
A book filled with so many twists and turns! A really enjoyable read. The family struggles, secrets, arguments, fall outs, lies and deceit were so well written, it draws you in. Moving between the different characters and understanding their points of views and thoughts made the story even more interesting. The story flowed nicely and the ending leaves you wondering what’s next for the Taylor family.

It’s rare that I read a book in two sittings, but I found this book difficult to put down. Mary Bradford’s first novel draws you in right from the start and holds your attention until the last page. The subject is a painful and topical one, dealing with the culture of secrecy that has so marked our country’s history. The story was well-paced and carefully plotted. I look forward to reading the others in the series.
