In June 2020, Maureen travels to Scotland to care for Terri, her terminally ill mother. Although a nurse, she is fearful of what lies ahead. Will their relationship slip from mother and daughter into patient and carer?

Terri likes to chat and Maureen likes to write,  so the two women come up with a plan over morning coffee. As her mum remembers a century of change, from the Glasgow Gorbals to post war Egypt and beyond, Maureen documents memories as vivid stories, linking the past and present through Terri’s personal reflections. A simple distraction from the harsh reality of cancer and Covid, changes Maureen and her mum in ways they never could have imagined. The power of storytelling becomes the story.
