Snappin’ Twine

(10 customer reviews)
@ Ursula Cafferty

Local stories with universal themes such as LOVE, INCLUSION, WIT, FEARLESSNESS, AUTONOMY and more.
This collection of nostalgic verses and vignettes charts the impact of some of the women of a 1960s midland town. An evocative and vivid reminiscence of childhood days.
The stories, which are told from a child’s perspective, are about independent female role models who made significant contributions to the business and social life of the town and inspired several generations, right up to the current day.

Even if you don’t know the individual women you will surely have met someone just like them!

To quote one reader ‘the writing is nothing short of extraordinary’.

Just finished reading Snappin’ Twine. Remarkable achievement. Evocative and vivid reminiscences of childhood days. A wonderful tribute to some of the wise women of 1960s Ireland. I’m truly very, very impressed. It’s a book I know I’ll go back to again and again to test some of my favourites. It made me happy 🙂

The verses and vignettes in Snappin’ Twine are brilliant and while I could never describe things the way the author does, the mix of emotions from that era just come flooding back. I didn’t want the book to end. I wanted to savour the moment.
