@ Nikita Catherine Walsh

Joseph Thompson was a young man living in Ireland when he was swept up in the Great War, not returning home for years. Injured and emotionally scarred, he returns to find that not everything is as he left it. Now, he must do his best to find himself after the horrors of the front line, take care of his parents, the family business, and deal with political tensions rising in Ireland. These tensions seem to be more than he can handle, but, when he meets Mary-Kate, he will discover that maybe his life is just beginning, and that love can beat any hardships one might be faced with. The Tailor’s Daisy is a wonderful story written with a lot of heart about the importance of family and having perseverance when faced with difficulties.

A Snippet from Joe and Mary-Kate’s first meeting…

“I have two grieving and old parents to support. I have no time to drown my sorrows yet.”

“Yet? So, when they go you will. Goodness me, what a waste of all that talent.” I bit the inside of my cheek, we seemed to be in battle of who would get the first laugh. “Won’t please me nor give me the win, no?”

“Absolutely not.”

“You’ve certainly forgotten your manners this evening.” I stole a glance at her. She was only up to my elbow, tiny frame and all. Red hair and big green eyes—now with a green cheek to match them. Looking down, I could see her worn hands from cleaning in the pub and they were slightly trembling. She can make all the banter she wants; she still got a fright.

“It’s rude to stare.”

I would highly recommend this book as it is probably one of the most beautiful books I’ve read and it’s also based on a true story. I can’t wait to see what Nikita Catherine brings out next!!

I really enjoyed this book, so much to the point it took me only 2 nights to read it (and I am not an avid reader at all)! It is very clear that Nikita Catherine is an incredibly talented author and I can not wait to see what she comes out with next!
