Thy Will Be Done

John Doyle is an eight-year-old boy, who lives with his widowed mother, a devout religious fanatic, who is prone to unpredictable, violent outbursts. Their already strained and damaged relationship takes an even darker turn when a new priest, Fr. O’Connell arrives in the parish. The priest and John’s mother engage in an illicit affair, and it soon becomes clear that the priest has a disturbing and predatory interest in young boys. It’s not long before the abuse begins. At the age of seventeen, John was sent to the seminary against his will to become a priest. After seven long and torturous years, he emerged not only as an ordained priest, but also as a deeply scarred man consumed by an insatiable desire for revenge. In a fit of blind rage, John brutally murders his mother and the priest. With his appetite now whetted by the sweet taste of revenge, and fuelled by his hatred of women, John continues on his murderous campaign. Every morning, despite the death and bloodshed of the previous night, John carefully dons his black suit and adjusts his crisp white dog collar before celebrating mass.
