Baxter's Boys

by Patrick Osborne

Baxter’s Boys is a dark comedy about a dysfunctional football team set in a disadvantaged part of Dublin.  The story follows the team on and off the pitch over the course of a season as they progress in the cup while also trying to win over the local community with hilarious consequences.

One of the key players is Davey Byrne, a part-time courier & full-time petty criminal. His best friend is Fran Reilly, an unemployed single father who is battling to keep custody of his young daughter while another teammate, Mick Young, the college educated posh lad with the killer looks is facing being made homeless.

Their Scouse manager, Pa Baxter has somehow guided the team of misfits which also includes an armed robber and a hitman to the latter stages of the cup. But with trouble always on the horizon, can they keep it together long enough to win the cup?
