Joanne Sweeney

Joanne Sweeney is a digital marketing and communications expert, four-time author, and podcaster. The founder of Digital Training Institute, which has a dedicated division for government and public sector professionals (Public Sector Marketing Institute), she helps ambitious and career-minded leaders navigate the online world with confidence, providing the skills to build competency.

A former broadcast journalist and PR practitioner, and author of multiple books on digital strategy and AI, Joanne is known for her practical, future-focused approach. She advises government bodies, policing agencies, EU institutions, radio stations, and businesses on social media, digital transformation, content strategy, and AI adoption. She has broadcast over 200 episodes of the daily AI SIX podcast, her third podcast venture in 10 years.

Joanne holds 12 academic and professional qualifications, including a Master’s Degree in Journalism and a Master’s Degree in Digital Marketing. She is a recent Executive Education graduate from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She was awarded a Certificate in Leading in Artificial Intelligence: Exploring Technology and Policy.

When not writing, consulting, or teaching, you’ll find her by the sea in the West of Ireland, and probably hanging out with her grandchildren, Maisie and Henry.
