Martin Byrne

My name is Martin Byrne, and I am a singer songwriter from Skerries in North County Dublin, Ireland. I have written and recorded two original albums to date. In addition to the music, I have a long list of hobbies including Cricket, Gaelic Football, Fly Fishing and Gardening. With the arrival of our first grandchild, I began to write some short stories. As time went on, I developed my skills by attending writing seminars and engaged with many writers who have acted as mentor and guide to me. With an overflow of prose, I tried my hand at writing in rhyme and soon discovered that this is what I longed to do. There have been a few bumps along the way, but my knowledge of songwriting has really settled me into the discipline of meter and syllables.

With all this in place, I am now embarking on a new adventure with my first full colour children’s picture book.

“There’s a bird’s nest in my underpants” is the one that I’ve chosen to lead the way into the exciting world of children’s books. As well as the lead out story I plan to add some audio files and short anecdotal stories and rhymes. I hope that you will join with me on the journey and I look forward to seeing you at….
