Andrew Locatelli Woodcock

Andrew Locatelli Woodcock is a writer and engineering leader. He has spent twenty years leading technology teams through the kind of high-pressure, quietly dysfunctional delivery programmes most organisations prefer not to talk about — an experience that left him convinced behaviours, not metrics, decide who ships and who doesn’t.

He tried to write about it as a business book. It was, he admits, extremely boring. The ideas only came alive when he turned them into a story — of two football teams drawn against each other in a cup match, one with all the talent, the other with a coach who measures what nobody else does.

The First Red is his debut novel. Andrew lives in Dublin.
