Dermod Dwyer and Denis Dwyer

Dermod Dwyer is a prominent figure in Ireland’s hospitality and tourism industry. He began his career in 1968 and has held significant roles, including Executive Chairman of The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) from 1997 to 2021. Dwyer was instrumental in the CCD’s development, overseeing its design, construction, and successful operation. He serves as Chairman of Powerscourt Estate and Gardens and served as Chairman of Setanta Sports Broadcasting Ireland and also as President of the Irish Hotels Federation. Additionally, he co-founded the Caroline Foundation for Cancer Research and has been involved with various educational and cultural institutions in Ireland, such as the National Gallery of Ireland and the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

Denis Dwyer is a film producer who has worked on the award-winning documentaries “Abbeyfealegood” (2019) and “The Irish Pub” (2013). “Abbeyfealegood,” directed by Alex Fegan, (which won the Royal Television Society award for Best Single Documentary 2020), explores themes of love, loss, and life through the stories of barbers and hairdressers in Abbeyfeale, County Limerick. Denis has also been involved in other projects like “Patricia” and “Face Values,” which focus on visual artists. In 2008 he and five friends cycled 12,500 miles from Cairo to Cape Town raising funds for health & education projects through Millennium Promise. His career includes roles in marketing, event management, and recruitment.
