Anthony Doogan

Anthony Doogan was born in Ballyliffin, Co. Donegal. His poetry has been described as “deep and reflective, yet cutting an unapologetic”. Mainly
written in the past two years, the poems have been informed by his experiences from a myriad of sources. They range from a near-drowning experience as a young child, working on a family farm, the civil rights issues of his youth in Ireland and the United States, as a volunteer teacher in Malawi, mental health issues, current affairs, tragedies in family lives, a love of Irish language and culture and, of course, the current Covid pandemic.
