In 2023 Fermoy Concert band celebrated 100 years of music. Originally founded by the spiritual director of the Men’s Confraternity Fr. J. Sheedy as a Church band, Fermoy Confraternity Brass & Reed band very quickly became associated with Fermoy town and beyond. Although the name of the band changed to Fermoy Concert band in 2001 there has been a continuity of band activities with performances at both church and non-church events, fundraising events and free concerts.
A Centenary celebration of Fermoy Concert Band was edited by Kieran Jordan with contributions of photographs and stories from past and present members.
