The biography of eleven siblings born between 1897 and 1920 is detailed in the book with stories of infant mortality, trans-generational emigration to the US, a stay in a Mother & Baby home and subsequent adoption, life in rural Ireland in the 20th Century. It also includes the story of the son of an Irish emigrant to the US who went on to become one of the most powerful people in Hollywood in the twentieth century.
