Just weeks short of his 86th.birthday,John Kennedy has written his first book.Highlighting the importance of sharing family histories that transcend generations,John’s stories recall his life in a small rural community in County Down.

John’s humorous tales share local folklore about growing up in the hamlet of Glenn,living in the old parochial house with his parents and ten siblings in the 1930’s, leaving his beloved Ireland in the lean 1950’s to seek his fortune abroad, and returning in 1970 with his new family to a more prosperous Ireland.

Reading this captivating collection of short stories feels like pulling up a chair to an open turf fire and listening to John tell of his life and adventures as only he can.

John lives in Rostrevor with his wife Stella and is a member of the Poyntzpass Historical Society and the Rostrevor Mens Shed.
